Edu Blog is a free education blogging platform on the web. It is licensed by WordPress INCSUB team which provides teacher, students and parents with a central platform to connect and exchange information. It is suitable for students from K-12 Level. Edu Blog is web-based thus is available to any device with web connectivity, just create an account and get started. There is a free version available, as well as paid subscription that allows for more features.
It is an effective classroom tool as it provides platform for the class to scaffold their inquiry based learning experiences. (Edu Blgs, 2015). Since students are used to writing and communicating in the digital landscape whether it be Twitter, FaceBook, Tumblr, or email, Edublg not only provides platform to communicate but provides them with a safe platform. (Thiyagu et.al. 2011), (Morris n.d.)
According to Morris (n.d.), blogging improves students’ writing skills and build their confidence as writers. Guided by clear expectations of what is required in a class blog, students can see their writing develop over the course of the term.
